Orphan

When I see your eyes
I know you are sad
I can see the light hidden
And the smile you once had

You sit across the table
But I don’t speak a word
There’s nothing I can say
Nothing you want heard

I understand your silence
I understand your pain
But you know I can’t help you
Or even try in vain

Homes just look like houses
Music sounds like "sounds"
Paintings look like pixels
Masses feel in pounds

I know you are an orphan
But you are not the only one
It’s a sea of lone faces
It still shines under the sun.

Why do you say that you cannot help??

If you really want to help, you can.
